Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco was born in Canada, and is now American. She has released more than 20 albums. DiFranco has released over 20 albums. Ani Difranco is widely recognized as an icon of music that is feminist. In 1990 she was one of the first to establish her own independent record label. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23 1970 the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco and Dante Americo DiFranco, who been in contact while at in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Both her parents were both of Montreal origin. Ani diFranco wrote and performed the song 32 Flavors. The track is part of her 1995 album Not a Pretty Girl, that was her sixth studio album. The song is featured in the soundtrack to the Canadian romantic drama Better Than Chocolate from 1999. DiFranco apologized in 2013, after it became clear that she'd set up a three-day workshop on the Louisiana plantation. Although she cancelled the workshop several participants (including our own paper) did not see any remorse. DiFranco offered a second apology a few days afterward. Her name is associated with her Little Folksinger music, but she's collaborated with many artists and genres including Pete Seeger to Chuck D. She is from New Orleans. Ani DiFranco lives with Kristen Ford. Within 14 years she was making her own songs. She performed them at coffee shops and bars throughout her teenage years. DiFranco began taking classes at Buffalo State College at age 16 after graduating from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts. The guitar is equipped with their System 600 amp and is all made from solid woods, including the body with a mahogany top and cedar sides featuring an ebony fretboard. The couple lives with their two kids in New Orleans and Lefty, their canine companion who is always in the frame. DiFranco says she is ambivalent to the thought that she could look back at her career backwards, even if it's been more than three decades. The singer and songwriter from the punk/folk genre Ani DiFranco ascended to musical hero recognition at age 25 in the eyes of both her fans and critics after her seventh studio album Not A Pretty Girl in 1995, and later had a bigger recognition through Dilate In 1996.
